Kaspersky Lab wins MRG Effitas award for fourth year running

Published on: 17 Aug 2018

Kaspersky Internet Security has been given the annual MRG Effitas Online Banking/Browser Security Award for 2017/18.

This marks the fourth time in a row that Kaspersky’s products have received this award, a point that underlines the solution’s reliability and efficiency against a growing raft of financial threats.

Kaspersky Internet Security set itself apart from rival solutions this time after consistently passing quarterly banking certification tests over a 12-month period.

In its tests, MRG Effitas evaluated how security solutions protected users and their money from the ever-growing financial threats, awarding worthy solutions with a vendor-independent certification.

Kaspersky Internet Security faced down numerous ‘in-the-wild’ financial malware and botnet tests from the last three quarters of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 to achieve certification.

Timur Biyachuev, vice president of threat research at Kaspersky Lab, said: “Our security solution has repeatedly passed tough, independent tests set by MRG Effitas over an extended period of time and achieving the overall annual award is testament to the evolving nature of Kaspersky Internet Security to cope with ever-increasing threats on financial transactions.”
