Mimecast acquires Ataata to strengthen cyber security training

Published on: 16 Jul 2018

Mimecast has acquired cyber security training provider Ataata for an undisclosed sum.

As a result of the buy-out, Mimecast customers will be able to measure cyber risk training effectiveness by converting behaviour observations into actionable risk metrics for security professionals.

The addition of security awareness training and risk scoring and analysis also strengthens Mimecast’s cyber resilience for email capabilities.

Ataata is a cyber security training and awareness platform, designed to reduce human error in the workplace and help organisations become more secure by changing the security culture of their employees.

Michael Madon, chief executive of Ataata, stressed how human error opens the door to the majority of security breaches and that organisations need to understand that employees are their last line of defence.

“Cyber security training and awareness doesn’t need to be difficult or boring,” he commented.

“Training and awareness is needed to help mitigate these internal risks. Our customers rely on engaging content at the human level, which helps to change behaviour at employee level.”
