Programme Manager - Shadow Availability and Maintenance Support
RAF Waddington Fleet Management Office
Summary of Role:
Raytheon UK require a Programme Manager to be based at RAF Waddington to work in the
Integrated Fleet Management Office to assist with planning of aircraft undergoing Pt 145
maintenance, management of additional tasking and emergent work, monitoring and
reporting against KPIs / PI's, administration and management of risk, opportunities,
improvement initiatives, actions and issues. In addition, the Programme Manager will act as
the interface between the Part M organisation based at RSL Broughton and the RAF
Waddington based MilCAM and Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.
Main Duties:
The Programme Manager will:
• Manage the pre-input / post output maintenance planning cycle for all aircraft
undergoing Pt 145 maintenance including organising and chairing pre and post
output maintenance meetings, providing associated minutes, capturing all lessons
learnt, actions and opportunities.
• Attend and minute all Fleet Management Office meetings and reviews for internal,
sub contract and customer facing contractual requirements including KPI reviews,
technical query reviews, monthly and quarterly customer reviews etc.
• Administer and manage the additional tasking process to ensure tasks are carried
out to meet Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements including the management of
all associated Task Authorisation Forms (TAF's), Basis Of Estimate (BOE), Schedule 7
tasking, Gate Processes and customer communications and feedback.
• Work closely with the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation, CAM, RAF Waddington
FHQ and 14 Sqn to ensure all maintenance is carried out on time and within budget.
• Collate all data from the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation reporting against
contractual KPIs and PIs. Monitor issues and drive corrective and improvement
initiatives.
• Drive initiatives to improve fleet operational availability.
• Attend Squadron daily maintenance meetings, FHQ Fleet Management weekly and
monthly meetings as and when required and feedback pertinent information to the
Part M Organisation.
• Administer and manage risk management and management of actions through
Active Risk Management (ARM)
• Act as the face to face interface between the Part M Continuing Airworthiness
Management Organisation and the customer and Part 145 Maintenance
Organisation.
• Act as deputy for the Shadow Fleet Availability Manager in his absence.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Strong organisational skills and an ability to build strong relationships with customers and
suppliers
Excellent Communication - written and verbal at all levels within the organisation, with the
customer and sub-contractors
Commercially astute
Experience of EASA Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance and/or Part M Continuing Airworthiness
Management Organisation regulations (EASA/CAA)
Ability to identify and understand programme issues, to summarize key concerns and
facilitate problem solving of issues
Established background in Aerospace and Defence
Detailed understanding of risk and opportunity management.
Eligible for or holder of current DV security clearance (Raytheon UK will sponsor as required)
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office packages)
Ability to work unsupervised or as a part of a Team.
Willing to travel between RSL and MoD sites as required
Desirable:
Experience of working alongside RAF personnel on military bases
Member of a relevant Engineering or Programme Management Professional Institution
Experience of working within a regulatory airworthiness environment, both military and civil
Knowledge of Civil oversight of Military Aircraft (CAP562 Leaflet B40)
