What responsibilities will you have?
We’re helping clients in Health and Public Service transition to a more protected environment. You’ll be responsible for managing the risks of transition and operating in new environments, leading assurance activities and working with our teams to ensure successful delivery.
As a principal malware researcher, your primary role is to undertake research on malware samples - to extract intelligence for attribution and develop signatures for malware detection and classification. You will also be involved in our ongoing research efforts on targeted attacks and cybercrime campaigns. We’re looking for a self-driven professional who can contribute to research direction and ideas to improve our collection efforts as well as providing technical supervision for our team of junior analysts.
You’ll be the key point of contact for Malware Intelligence, helping our delivery teams and the client identify technical solutions and help manage risk.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
We’re looking for people with experience of successful delivery of security and malware research within large programmes. You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of:
- X86/64 Assembly and Malware Reverse Engineering
- Network Intrusion Models e.g. Kill Chain / ATT&CK
- Threat Actor and Group Tracking
- Developing Malware Classification Signatures e.g. Yara
- Scripting Languages e.g. Python
- Communicating technical subjects to non-technical subjects
Ideally you will have experience in some of the following areas:
- Windows Internals
- IR Remediation
- Red Teaming
- Knowledge of another language such as; Russian, Spanish or Italian
- SANS GREM
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be capable of holding UK Security Vetting at SC level. You must have continuously resided in the UK for the last 5 years and not require a visa to work in the UK. DV Clearance would be highly desirable.
What academic qualifications do you need?
Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
