The Team - National Markets Consulting


The Cyber team is an integral part of our rapidly growing National Markets Consulting practice. As a multi-disciplinary practice we deliver a comprehensive range of consulting services that our clients demand. Our Cyber specialists deliver a number of service lines to our clients, including:
- Strategy, transformation and governance
- Advice on the management of technology risk
- Cyber defence services and penetration testing - understanding
- Identity and access management (IAM)

The Role
Our client base sits across a diverse range of sectors, with each needing to deal effectively with their information security (and related) risks, to achieve maximum value from their technology, data and processes. Our Cyber specialists provide independent, jargon-free advice to help them achieve this potential.

We also work closely with our wider consulting practice e.g. technology risk specialists, digital & Forensic experts and technology strategists; ensuring our clients receive the best possible advice.
The team works in an agile and flexible manner, with plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and gain new knowledge. We are keen to support and develop our people to enable them to be the best they can be.

The Person

- Be an expert in developing security strategies, architectures and implementation roadmaps that include consideration of the digital agenda and associated risks.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the security service providers and vendors in the market place.
- Initiate, develop and challenge thought leadership in in all areas of security, targeting a C-level audience.
- Assist clients in reviewing the technical effectiveness of security solutions.

- Project manage engagements to deliver high quality work in a timely manner to include: Scoping / Financial management / Engagement and risk management / Production and review of deliverables.
- Coach and develop team members through sharing of experience and knowledge.
- Deliver value added services to clients.
- Build and manage client relationships across a number of clients.
- Develop internal networks and maintain relationships with colleagues across other teams within KPMG.

Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in an information security environment within professional services or an in-house information security function.
- Proven ability to identify and assess complex information security risks and controls
- Understanding of a wide range of information security and IT methodologies, principles, technologies and techniques.
- Experience in and an understanding of the Cyber risks faced by clients within a broad industry base.
- Experience of delivery and advice in a variety of project management environments

- Excellent communication skills and report writing skills.
- Capacity to deliver work within tight timescales to a high quality.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security) or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
- It would also be useful (but not a deal-breaker) if you have a recognised information security (e.g. CISM / CISSP) qualification, or working towards this qualification.

Additional Information
The role will be based at our Birmingham regional office and will include occasional travel; candidates must have a willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally on occasions.
