QA has created a PODCAST to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020

Published on: 9 Mar 2020

Despite the work done to highlight the deficit of females in tech roles, recent reports suggest there is still much to do. A recent survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) revealed just 3% of females at A-Level age say that a career in tech is their first choice. A further 78% can’t name a famous female working in technology.

Fuelled by this research and the spotlight which will be shone on women through IWD, QA has recorded a podcast (part of their #Get2020Vision series) which lifts the lid on the issues that affect women in tech. In the episode, we find out what the blockers are, how hard is it for women to carve out careers in tech and what more can be done to get women into the technology industry.

For the episode we have brought together women in tech who work in the industry, comment on it or influence legislative and societal change. First, is Dr. Anne-Marie Imafadion MBE, founder of award-winning social enterprise STEMettes - dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young women into the STEM sectors. She campaigns tirelessly to increase gender diversity across STEM industries.

Alongside Anne-Marie is Lucy Hamilton, an Integrations & API Developer at Pace Integration – new into the tech industry, Lucy shares her experience and career aspirations.
