The principles you know. The scope of the challenge you don’t.
The NDA is responsible for the safe and efficient clean-up of the UK’s nuclear legacy. It’s complex and fascinating work that involves a UK-wide estate. Cyber security is a high priority and we’re investing heavily in this area. To ensure our systems remain protected, we’ve created an exciting brand new role. As our Chief Information Security Officer, you’ll have a critical, high-profile post at the heart of the civil nuclear industry. Join us, and play a key part in the NDA’s future.
In effect, you will be our senior cyber security specialist. That means you will be responsible for enhancing security across the entire NDA estate. You will lead Chief Security Officers at each NDA site and focus on all aspects of Information Risk Management and Information Assurance. With your expertise, we can be sure that we’re complying with all legal obligations.
This important central role will make you leader of our overall cyber security programme – and a source of high-level guidance. With our most senior security professionals (including our Cyber Security and Resilience Programme Board) looking to you for advice, you must combine technical knowledge with sound leadership skills and the ability to effectively present highly technical issues to a wide, non-specialist audience.
We’re looking for certified CISO with a robust understanding of cyber security – but also a strategic leader who can support development across the estate. You’ll be representing the NDA at the very highest levels, so you must have the credibility to influence and persuade. To win the trust and support of Government, regulatory bodies and industry figures, you must be CISM, CISA or CISSP-qualified with relevant experience. You’ll also need working knowledge of nuclear decommissioning activities and the threats involved.
Degree-educated in a relevant technical subject, you’ll be a first class leader with the resilience to deal with challenges and pressures. You’ll also be a British national with DV clearance (or willing to undertake DV screening).
If you’d like to join our high-performing team in beautiful Cumbria, we offer relocation support.
Be you, by our standards.
