Role summary
We have a number of vacancies for Commercial Officer roles to join our EMEA Commercial team, supporting the Government and private sectors. We are looking for passionate people who are looking for an exciting and challenging career in a fast-paced and growing business.
 
What you will be doing
The Commercial team supports the EMEA region through undertaking the following activities throughout the lifecycle:
Business winning phases:
  • Providing guidance to the sales and bid teams on the use of our product/services catalogue, price lists, rate cards and standard terms and conditions
  • Supporting sales and bid teams in shaping the price, scope and terms & conditions for individual deals, drawing in expertise from subject matter experts
  • Identifying commercial risks and legal/regulatory issues on individual deals and referring them to the appropriate level of management or specialist function for resolution
  • Reviewing NDA, Order Forms, Statements of Work and other forms of agreement that have been prepared by delivery and sales teams
  • Responding to customer queries and supporting or leading contact negotiations with the customer through to agreement and signature
Partner management:
  • Supporting channel sales teams in setting up new channel partner relationships and mobilising the associated operational processes to support ongoing sales
  • Supporting channel sales teams with responding to queries from channel partners and processing channel partner orders
Contract execution phase:
  • Launching the contract and ensuring its obligations are fully understood by the delivery team
  • Providing ongoing advice and interpretation of contract terms, and pragmatic advice on contract management issues
  • Supporting sales and delivery teams with the agreement of contract changes, extensions and renewals
Contract closure:
  • Working closely with delivery and finance teams to close contracts, ensuring that obligations to and by the customer have been met and liabilities are covered
Opportunity identification and exploitation:
  • Working with delivery and sales in proactively identifying opportunities arising through our customer contracting, for example in recognising potential contract extensions and minimising 'revenue leakage'
 
What we are looking for:
Essential requirements:
  • commercial background with experience in Government, Financial Services, Telecommunications or Energy & Utilities sectors
  • experience in preparing quotations, pricing, terms and conditions and commercial offers
  • experience in drafting and negotiating basic commercial agreements such as NDAs
  • knowledge and understanding of basic commercial terms and agreements
  • able to communicate clearly both verbally and orally with internal and external customers
  • ability to multitask and plan to deliver within demanding timescales
  • good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • an effective contributor to the team and collaborates well with others, demonstrating value to the team on a consistent basis.
  • proactive and innovative mindset, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced bid environment
  • good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills, with the ability to forge strong working relationships with colleagues and lead customer negotiations where appropriate
  • an interest in Cyber Defence and the importance of this in today's "connected world"
Desirable requirements (successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate at least one):
  • experience in bidding and business winning, contract negotiation and in-contract management within the IT industry
  • knowledge of legal issues and the drafting of contractual agreements (and the link to  associated supplier or sub-contracts)experience in use of product catalogues, price lists and 'playbooks'
  • experience in contracting for software licensing, support & maintenance and associated professional services
  • experience in contracting for hosted IT managed services or "Software-as-a-Service"
  • international contracting experience (preferably in Europe)
  • ability to understand and challenge deal profitability and cashflow information
  • experience in working with channel partners
The role may require occasional travel within the UK and international travel within Europe.
 
Clearance requirements
The successful applicant will be required to obtain UK SC security clearance.
