The role


The role will be working in the Cyber Security practice within Technology Risk Consulting. Our clients are increasingly under cyber-attack and under regulatory scrutiny to demonstrate effective management of cyber risk. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technical capabilities to help our clients proactively manage cyber and technology risks to drive value from their business information assets whilst protecting business.

Our cyber security services are defined within four capability groups:
- Strategy, Transformation and Governance - this includes the following sub-groups:
- Security Strategy, Risk and Governance.
- Security Architecture.
- Operational Resilience.
- Third party management.
- Privacy
- Identity and Access Management
- Cyber Defence Services

We provide cyber security services to clients across three markets:
- Financial Services
- Corporates
- National Markets

The role is a Technical Security Director role in our Strategy, Transformation and Governance capability group focused on our Corporates clients. As a Technical Security Director you will have the opportunity to drive all of the cyber, technology, and risk services and a key emphasis will be on the delivery of technical security engagements to clients.

The Director role covers three key areas (Market Focus, Issues Led and Culture & Motivation)
- Delivery of technical cyber security engagements.
- Development and maintenance of technical cyber security commercial propositions to drive and meet market demand and clients' issues. Building relationships with other parts of the firm and binding offerings together.
- Lead/co-lead the Security Architecture capability group.
- Business/client development.
- Relationship and sales origination/building a pipeline of opportunities.
- People Leadership.
- Lead/manage/nurture the team/identify gaps and build technical skills.

Reporting to the Lead Cyber Security Partners for Corporates and Strategy, Transformation & Governance, the Technical Cyber Security Director role involves:
- Taking accountability for the delivery of technical cyber security engagements and leading multiple engagements on a day to day basis with the assistance of Senior Managers/Managers in the team.
- Being responsible for expanding our technical cyber security services in the Corporates sector.
- Leading sales origination/business development initiatives and acting as an integral part of the broader Technology and Cyber Security leadership team.
- Contributing to the overall cyber security strategy by identifying where there are opportunities for growth and developing the strategy to capitalise on cyber security risk opportunities in this sector.
- Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CFO, COO, CISO or Head of Technology level) across a range of organisations.
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as responding to RFPs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG.
- Coaching and developing team members both as part of our overall performance management process or on specific engagements.
- Contributing to practice management e.g. training, knowledge management, thought leadership, etc.
- Travelling in the UK to region offices and in particular regularly attending the Canary Wharf offices; and travelling in the UK or internationally supporting client delivery where required.
- Acting in line with KPMG's values at all times

The person

- Batchelor degree qualification in Security, Technology or relevant Professional Qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, M. Inst IISP, TOGAF, etc.
- MBA or Master degree (Desirable).
- Experience of working in the Corporates sector including working with large, global organisations.
- Experience of working at the senior level as a Cyber Security Lead and Consultant.
- Commercially aware and with industry relationships that will enable achievement of revenue in the region of £1.5+ million per year.
- Wide industry exposure with a depth of technical security knowledge and experience in one or more services in our Strategy, Transformation and Governance capability.
- Experience and knowledge of the technical security issues and solutions for industrial control systems/SCADA.
- Experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment facing clients in the Corporates sector; with a particular focus on technology, security and privacy relevant regulations.
- Proven experience of successfully leading, managing and delivering cyber and technology advisory and assurance services to large/medium, multi-national clients.
- Proven experience of delivering technical security advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience, extensive relevant sales experience, negotiation and project management skills.
- Sound understanding of risk management in professional services environment.
- Extensive Cyber Security consulting experience is desirable ("Big 4" professional services or Technology consultancy).
