Quality Engineer
Glenrothes

This role will be based in the circuit card assembly manufacturing area, carrying out, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Monitor real time quality performance & act as 1st point of contact for CCA area regarding daily production issues, defect investigation, containment, problem solving and root cause investigations.
  • Effective & timely monitoring and status reporting for assigned program(s) / area of responsibility.
  • Ability to understand performance trends and analyse non conformance data.
  • Possess comprehensive understanding of CCA processes and product knowledge.
  • Act as advisor/voice of customer on quality related matters on assigned programme(s) / area of responsibility.
  • Liaise with Production, Quality and Engineering functions on quality related issues.
  • Develop strong relationships through effective integration into cross functional team.
  • Participate in Quality audits and generation of report findings (product/process).
  • Provide assistance and support to Quality Eng team in development and execution of corrective/preventative actions.
  • Interface and communicate with program and functional areas to support the goals of the business.
  • Ability to interpret and apply requirements of both IPC 610 & J-STD-001 standards.
  • Proficient in navigation and interrogation of Visiprise shop floor system.
  • Run product/process COGNOS performance reports for data analysis.
  • Support, participate and occasionally lead daily production meetings, PRB meetings, 8D investigations, etc.
  • Inspect/Review/Screen product/material as part of QA investigation.
  • Issue reports/meeting minutes/handovers to functional peers & support network.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects in CCA area.
  • When required, help investigate customer highlighted product issues and feedback results of investigation.
  • Ensure effective & timely closure of actions received from Audit NC's/internal investigations/8D's/customer complaints.
  • Maintain quality records/metrics (including PRB's, 8D's, Performance metrics).
  • Application of statistical techniques to support the effective process management.
  • Raise production alerts for issue to Manufacturing areas.
  • Disposition standard repair instructions (SRI's) as per IPC-7711/7721
  • Support business in preparation for, and during, external agency, accreditation body & customer audits.
  • Support and manage, when required, customer product inspection visits.

  • Internal Auditor or training to ISO90001
  • IPC-A-610/J-STD-001/IPC 7711/7721 - knowledge of
  • Experience with SAP or similar resource planning system
  • Problem solving skills/techniques

Required Education (including Major):
  • Experience within a Manufacturing and/or Quality/Engineering organization.
  • Experience in either a medical or aerospace environment
  • Six-sigma/Lean manufacturing experience/certification
  • Experience working in an Electronics/Manufacturing environment, Knowledge of PCBA, Box build
  • National Certificate: Engineering or Manufacturing

Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required)
