Summary of Role:

The Graduate Air
Systems
Engineer will be responsible for the development of Systems and Modifications to air platforms in support of RSL's Airborne ISR Business. The successful candidate will be part of the Systems Engineering team and report to the Principal Systems Engineer.

The successful candidate will also be part of the growing Airborne ISR Team which delivers aviation engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.

Main Duties:

The role offers an exciting challenge in supporting RSL's Airborne ISR programmes with responsibilities for:

  • Developing design solutions to meet new and existing Customer requirements using a Systems Engineering approach.

  • Developing modification proposals for Aircraft avionic and electrical systems and capability enhancement modifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Analysis of Electrical and Avionics design issues, determination of actions and solutions, working in accordance with a task database management tool.

  • Liaison with equipment OEM's in order to specify equipment for use within RSL's airborne design solutions.

  • Support to formal internal and external customer reviews

  • Ensuring that all engineering activities undertaken under your control are conducted in accordance with RSL site and Company policies.

Graduate Leadership Development Programme Training:
During the first 2 years, in addition to your main role, you'll be assigned various modules to support your career development. These range from business skills to team building activities.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • 2:1 degree
    in Aerospace Systems or Aeronautical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic or Systems Engineering discipline with an aerospace specialism in
    any degree discipline)

  • Pre university qualifications equivalent to 120 UCAS points new system or 300 UCAS points old system

  • Ability to relocate to different UK sites and relocate during the role if required

  • A Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles.

  • An able communicator in verbal, written and presentational forms.

  • A logical problem solver who can operate effectively under stretching project constraints.
  • Able to manage and work within agreed timescales.
  • Able to use initiative to improve team process and performance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Aircraft Electrical Systems.

  • Understanding of aircraft certification basis and System Safety.


  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows based software.

  • Flexibility to travel within UK and abroad to support meetings.
