Summary of Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with an Engineering background to enrich their career path by developing and growing knowledge in the area of Configuration and Data Management.

As a Configuration and Data Analyst you will support the continued growth and development of the Configuration Management and Data Management team across multiple business areas. You will be an integral member of the CM Functional team performing an important and pivotal role within the Engineering function.

The main responsibilities within this role will see you administer, maintain and support the business areas, pertaining to Configuration and Data Management. This will include planning, development, establishment and maintenance of hardware, software assets and other artefacts including documentation across a multitude of new and legacy systems at multiple business areas and multiple sites. You can expect to expand the knowledge that you already possess by becoming an exponent in the use of invaluable techniques and using corporate tools in the control of a wide range Company Assets. Professional Configuration Management is critical to Raytheon's continued success and as such, this role provides good opportunities for personal development including Professional Accreditation.

Main Duties

  • To understand and assist in the successful delivery of the CM and DM requirements for any given contract, including Security requirements, in compliance with: RSL Standard Processes and practices
  • To understand and become conversant with National CM standards eg Def Stan 05-57, EIA 649, ISO 10008, ITIL etc
  • Assist and subsequently undertake the creation of CM and DM Plans
  • Create and maintain Basis of Estimates(BoEs) and Estimates at Completion(EACs) based on Raytheon 'Best Practice' where possible
  • Assist and administer Configuration Change Control to capture programme historical build data, including an understanding of the company PDM tool
  • Administer the control of both customer and Raytheon hardware, software and documentation artefacts in a suitable Data Management repository in accordance with Raytheon Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the maintenance of baselines through the Engineering Development Lifecycle and into the 'In Service' phase of any given programme
  • Review, control and release programme artefacts to support business requirements
  • Establish a communications network to establish programme alignment as well as CMDM functional management
  • Maintain various program specific spread sheets, data bases and reports, relating to CM and DM in support of Business and Customer requirements.
  • Maintain both customer and Raytheon documentation and Software artefacts in the specified Data Management repositories
  • Review and modify existing Raytheon processes or create new processes where necessary
  • Undertake a Raytheon Six Sigma Project

Candidate Requirements

Essential
  • An Engineering qualification
  • A willingness to learn, retain knowledge and ultimately become a Subject Matter Expert
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • PC literacy including Windows
  • Current or eligibility to obtain SC level security clearance

Desirable

  • An understanding of Configuration and Data Management
  • An understanding of the Engineering Development Lifecycle
  • Good communicator both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated attitude, able to work functionally or within a busy business area
  • Confident to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team
