BAE Systems Applied Intelligence is looking for an experienced Planning, Monitoring and Control Professional resource to lead the Project Management Office for a large international Programme. The individual will be providing the full range of support to senior Project Managers and Programme Managers. The scope of this role includes financial management, change management, risk and issue management, project planning and earned value management expertise, and may require overseas travel.
Key Responsibilities
Takes responsibility for the provision of Project Management Office activities including:
  • Responsible for setting up and operating planning, monitoring and control systems for a large programme
  • Delegates and coordinates others in the delivery of planning, monitoring and control activities.
  • Ensure project data is ready in time for inclusion in Business reports.
  • Responsible for the common  administrative and management support  activities for the programme
  • Responsible for the production of management information, including scenario modelling, in direct support of analysis of the programmes health.
  • Supports delivery governance and reporting requirements
  • Responsible for the application of monthly governance processes
  • Responsible for the management and analysis of monthly finance activities
  • Responsible to ensure standardisation, consistency and accuracy across the programme reporting and governance
  • Responsible for setting up the Earned Value Management System
  • Responsible for collating and analysing cost performance data reports in order to identify cost, schedule, and performance trends and deviations and recommend corrective action
  • Responsible to facilitate programme mobilisation
  • Assist with planning and execution of the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
Skills and Experience Required
  • You have knowledge of and experience in the application of planning, monitoring and control activities (including WBS and scope management, scheduling, resource management, budget and cost management, risk management, change management, earned value)
  • Able to and use standard tools (e.g. MSP) and able to develop and maintain bespoke Excel based programme specific Project Control tools and spreadsheets
  • Able to setup and operate Earned Value Management Systems and run Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Project management qualification or equivalent (desirable)
