BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (AI) has an exciting opportunity based in our Guildford office. The NetReveal Social Network Analytics (SNA) engineering team within BAE AI is looking for someone to be responsible for the development, quality assurance, support and successful delivery of the next generation of our fraud detection and advanced social network analytics applications, which underpin our solutions.
 
NetReveal SNA is an award-winning suite of products designed to detect and investigate unusual behaviour patterns in social networks; and is used internationally to detect insurance and banking fraud, tax evasion, unauthorised trading and many other scenarios.
 
The NetReveal SNA Engineering team is part of that division, responsible for designing and building   cutting edge solutions for our Financial Crime and Fraud Detection products.
 
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Lead with knowledge and expertise of defining and implementing test automation strategies and tools, and ensuring their uptake by a wider community of engineers. You will be working in a fully Agile environment, working closely with our Scrum teams to ensure that quality remains an integral part as part of everything that we do.
 
We expect the successful candidate to be a hands on technical person, with experience of both defining test automation strategies, and if necessary implementing the supporting tools and frameworks themselves. They will be a clear and confident communicator, who will help drive best practice throughout our teams.
 
3. Responsibilities
 
As QA Lead you will be responsible for ensuring that quality is an essential part of everything that we do.
 
The role involves:
 
  • Defining and implementing test automation strategies and supporting frameworks/tools.
  • Defining and implementing performance test strategies and supporting frameworks/tools.
  • Helping teams to refine the backlog, ensuring that new stories are accompanied by an appropriate level of testing
  • QA Sign off of major and minor releases
  • Writing test exit and ad hoc quality reports
  • Identifying and managing the risks presented by any gaps in our test coverage
  • Career mentoring and line management
 
4. Skills/experience
 
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and ready to immerse themselves in the product development life cycle from design to delivery.
 
We are looking for candidates with some or all of the following skills and experience:
 
  • Hands on experience with at least one object oriented programming language (preferably Java, Groovy or Scala, although others will be considered).
  • Experience of defining and implementing test automation strategies,
  • The ability to become a valued and trusted advisor for quality and test automation matters to a number of high performing teams
  • Knowledge of testing best practice throughout the software development lifecycle, from unit test to UI test
  • Experience of Selenium based browser automation frameworks
  • Experience of Cucumber and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
  • Experience of Continuous Integration and/or Continuous Delivery (both as a process and of any supporting technologies)
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and stakeholders
