Job Description

Job Title - Cyber Security Team Lead

Location - Watford

Department - Cyber Security, Information Assurance

Working Hours 35. Covering 08:00 - 18:00 Mon-Fri on a shift basis.

On call - Yes (one week at a time; based on rota; possibly every 4 weeks)

The Role:




Working as part of the KPMG Cyber Security team within Information Assurance, you will play a key role in ensuring that the business IT systems are protected and monitored from threats.

You will look after the Cyber Security team as a senior connection point for junior team members but also act as a deputy for the Cyber Security Manager.



Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Cyber Security team on a day to day basis, providing monitoring and incident response for emerging cyber threats.

Liaise with the Global Security Operations Centre by responding to cyber incidents and sharing intelligence that may impact other member firms.

Lead a technical malware response process during a significant outbreak event.

Identify Cyber security threats and vulnerabilities and implement appropriate countermeasures.

Ensure that appropriate access control methods and tools are in place for Cyber Security systems.

Provide on-going support and enhancement of existing Cyber Security infrastructure.

Assist Cyber Security Manager to deliver projects related to Cyber Security.

Deputise, Cyber Security Manager when required.

The Person:




Technical skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following:

- Technical degree with focus on Information / Cyber Security-based curriculum.

- At least three years hand-on experience working in Cyber Security roles with a mature understanding of Cyber security principles

- Familiarity with various operating systems including Windows and OS X is essential.

- Proven ability with Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems.

- Experience with Intrusion detection/prevention systems, including Advanced Threat protection.

- Experience with vulnerability management tools and methodologies.

- Good understanding of the different networking technologies and authentication protocols.

- Practical and current knowledge of the Cyber Security threats landscape.

Soft skills and experience:

- At least 4+ years' experience working within a Cyber Security operations environment.

- Proven customer service skills and experience.

- Ability to read and interpret data including security, system, application and device specific logs

- Excellent analytical skills and solutions oriented approach.

- Ability to work in high-demand, busy environments.

- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems. A methodical approach with accuracy is essential.

- Ability to liaise with the full range of individuals and groups involved in a business or IT programme.

- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of the different KPMG team in the UK and globally.

Desirable additional points:

- Hold security certification; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent.

- Proven technical certification in system and/or networking operation, preferably having a broad curriculum.
