Summary of Role:
Raytheon UK is looking for a dynamic and high performing Programme Manager for the Vehicle Systems business area reporting directly to the Business Sector Lead for Land Systems. Vehicle Systems encompasses the development, manufacture and supply of Power Products and associated Mission Systems for military vehicles into the UK and International markets.
This is a complex and challenging role that will be highly rewarding and high profile, with extensive communication and interfacing with potential Customers, Internal stakeholders, other Raytheon companies and Industry stakeholders.
The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina.
The work location is flexible and can be based at our Glenrothes or Harlow facilities.

Main Duties:

The Vehicle Systems Programme Manager will be responsible for:
Defining and gaining approval of the Vehicle Systems strategy with internal stakeholders and being accountable for delivering the strategy
Building strong links with the customer community, industry partners and SMEs
The financial performance of the Vehicle Systems programmes and investments
Achieving customer requirements along with meeting the business goals of schedule, budget, deliveries and winning new / follow on business
Ensuring that business goals, objectives and strategy are clearly communicated to the Vehicle Systems team and that the programme teams are motivated to perform and deliver requirements
The execution and delivery of product/technology development plans
Work in conjunction with other functional teams, ensuring that the resources required to support the projects are recruited, retained, properly motivated with realistic goals, have the correct skills and are assigned to the appropriate tasks and duties
Identify business and project risks and opportunities, quantify and produce mitigation, capture and contingency plans
Facilitate complex problem solving initiatives. This will require a high technical competence and ability to think strategic solutions
Approving programme and project plans and preparing/reviewing and approving all EACs taking into account programme scope, achievement to date, ETC, EV metrics and all key risk and opportunities
Ensuring regular and effective reporting on the status of captures, investment and execution to the Business Sector Lead for Land Systems
Provide input to the Annual Operating Plan and 5 Year planning cycles
It is important that the successful candidate can demonstrate strong communication skills in order to ensure that any issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be required to manage a cross functional team in order to address all risks and issues; and must be proactive in building strong communication lines across the business.
The role will be accountable for the continued development and execution of a growth strategy, business capture and the management of existing business along with financial performance and customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience

Essential
Proven track record in capture management and in growing new business
Experience of leading multi-disciplinary development and production teams
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal at all levels within the organisation and with customers
Proactive team builder who can motivate and lead by example
Innovative and creative problem solver
Detailed understanding of risk and opportunity management
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Bid and Proposal management, winning new, repeat or follow on business through leading and supplying winning proposals

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and for SC Level Security Clearance (Raytheon will sponsor as required)

Desirable
Relevant professional qualification or membership, such as APM
Experience with Military programs including UK Defence Land and Vehicle Systems
Working knowledge of the UK Defence Industry
