Job Title: Global Trade Export and Import Administrator

Summary of Role

Raytheon UK are seeking a Global Trade Export and Import Administrator who will be responsible for providing efficient administrative and clerical support to the wider Global Trade Export and Import team and to support and assist in the management of all aspects of UK export and import activity and US regulatory requirements where necessary. This role will report into the Head of Global Trade Operations.

Main Duties

  • Producing and checking essential shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with United Kingdom Export/ Import control regulations
  • To ensure compliance, as required, with United States and other countries Export/ Import control regulations
  • To ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • To assist and undertake all aspects of export and import related activity as required.
  • To build relations and interface with Raytheon UK Program Managers, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Freight Forwarders
  • To undertake import checks for licensing approvals, customs requirements ensuring correct cost prices, commodity codes, delivery and payment terms are being used.
  • To assist in providing import clearance instructions to freight providers.
  • To assist and undertake UK Export License Applications as required
  • To assist in the management of End User Undertakings as required
  • Updating and maintaining accurate shipping information in the Export/Import Registers and management of physical and electronic EXIM records in line with regulatory requirements customs
  • Monitoring and checking customs declaration have been submitted accurately by the appointed freight forwarder and broker/agent
  • Assisting with transport arrangements by sea, air and road
  • Assisting in reconciliation and approval of freight invoices, Intrastat, ONS & HMRC reporting.
  • Dealing with internal customer enquires relating to orders, shipments and deliveries
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Provide coverage of other roles within the department during absences and busy periods
  • Support the Head of Global Trade Operations on specific projects as requested
  • Support global trade goals and objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of improved processes using Six Sigma and other lean tools.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Good computer skills and competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, well organised and able to multitask
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and working practices
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable

  • Previous administrative experience in the shipping & logistics sector
  • Import / export experience and be conversant with customs procedures
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge / understanding of the UK export licensing system.
  • Working knowledge and experience in shipping against Open General Export Licences (OGELs)
  • Working knowledge and experience in shipping against Standard Individual Export Licences (SIELs)
  • Working knowledge of commodity coding and tariff classification.
  • Working knowledge of duty deferment processes and procedures
  • Awareness of the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and Export Administration (EAR) regulations
  • Experienced in working with policies and procedures in a compliance driven environment
