Job Description
The Role
The role will be working in the Cyber department within the Risk Consulting practice focusing upon the delivery of services to our clients in Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH). The Public Sector is experiencing significant change and KPMG is making significant investment in the sector. Our clients need to deal effectively with technology related risks and derive maximum value from data and documentation. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technical capabilities to help our clients proactively manage their technology risks and use their data to its full potential.
The Cyber Security department is split across a number of different service lines, these are:
- Strategy and Security Transformation
- Privacy
- Cyber Maturity Assessment
- Identity and Access Management
- 3rd Party Assurance and Certification
- Business Resilience
- Cyber Defence Services
- Records Management
- Industrial Control Systems
As a security consultant, you will have the opportunity to work across all of the service lines and to deliver key projects with your clients, with a clear focus on clients in the Public Sector. The Public Sector includes Health, Local Government, Housing, Universities and Police in addition to Central Government Departments.
Responsibilities:
- Leading sales and business development activities across the market to include:
o Relationship building
o Client allocations
o Proposal writing
o Presentations to clients
- Proactive management and delivery of client engagements to ensure the following are carried out:
o Design and approach of services meet client needs
o Scoping and production of deliverables
o Project and financial management
o Review of team deliverables for quality and risk purposes
o Liaising with clients on delivery and implementation issues
o Identifying business development opportunities
- Demonstrating an understanding of KPMG's broader offerings to enable identification of business opportunities
- Developing excellent relationships with colleagues in other areas of the firm as part of a One Firm approach to client engagement.
- Role modelling risk and engagement management practices
- Monitor and uphold high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external)
- Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear.
- Performance management and development of junior staff members
- Upholding KPMG's values within the broader Cyber Security team
The Person
- Broad experience across Information and IT Security related disciplines encompassing People, Process and Technology.
- Proven experience of successfully managing information protection services in a commercial environment, ensuring the delivery of high quality work on time and to budget.
- Proven ability to lead work at sustained levels of high intensity, and inspire drive and resilience in others
- Demonstrable breadth of skills/experience and public sector market awareness.
- Proven ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Proven ability in taking appropriate action after monitoring/reviewing the progress and performance of others.
- Proven experience in identifying and converting sales opportunities.
- Extensive Information Security Assurance/ Consulting experience.
- Demonstrable experience of influencing senior executives, up to board level.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree level qualified, IT or relevant subject (preferred)
- Recognised information protection qualifications (eg CISSP, CISM, M. Inst IISP, etc)
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), negotiation and project management skills
- Extensive relevant sales experience
- Ability to interact with organisations at a senior levels
