Programme Manager (Contract - 6 months)

Summary of Role:

Raytheon is looking for an experienced programme manager to work in the Power and Training Solutions business area. The role will be focused on managing power product programs across multiple customers. The projects to be managed could include bid work, product and technology development, new product introduction and full rate production. The role will be based in Scotland but some UK and International travel may be required. We are looking for an individual who can lead teams in the delivery of complex technologies to customers.

Main Duties:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of programmes, ensure that clear direction is provided to the programme teams and that programme status is reported accurately to leadership and customers
  • Main point of contact for customer ensuring contractual requirements are understood and being met and providing contract stewardship to the customer

  • Cost and Schedule management. As Programme Manager you have P&L responsibility for the programme

  • Management of the risks and opportunities on the programme.

  • Ensuring that programme governance is in place to ensure successful execution

  • Build and develop strong Customer relationships and effective management of Stakeholders. Part of the role will involve business development where you will be expected to grow the business that we perform with the existing customer base

  • Motivate people by communicating a shared vision, providing direction, setting goals and mentoring, and creating team environment that encourages people to work towards a common objective

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, business or relevant degree

  • Experience in risk and opportunity management

  • Ability to negotiate & influence
  • A successful track record in setting up and executing full lifecycle development programmes
  • Proven track record of delivering complex UK and international programmes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team leadership and mentoring
  • Bid and Proposal management, winning new, repeat or follow on business through leading and supplying winning proposals
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and hold SC Level Security Clearance
Desirable:
  • Understanding of EVMS
  • Understanding of ITAR and Government contracting
  • Relevant professional qualification or membership, such as APM
  • Knowledge of MS Project
  • Knowledge of Power or Electromechanical systems
