To be an integral part of a busy Procurement team helping manage manufacturing engineering activity on a major Aircraft modification programme.
The candidate will be required to have prior experience in a manufacturing engineering role ideally in the Aerospace (or similar) sector.
Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to liaise with a broad range of Suppliers to help resolve engineering queries, drive delivery schedules and be integral in the identification & qualification of new Suppliers.
The role will involve working closely with all areas of the business and with line management to help inform strategic decisions.

Main Duties:
Provide support to Supply Chain Manager and programme leadership in controlling the quality of goods and services delivered to the Raytheon Airborne business line.
To identify supply chain / supplier risks, understand root causes and to adopt a pro-active approach in mitigation these risks.
To identify efficiencies, from a quality control, schedule & cost perspective and to adopt a pro-active approach in delivering these efficiencies.
Support the Quality Assurance team in undertaking supply chain audits and supplier surveillance activities
Manage and implement quality control targets and initiatives for continual improvement to drive best practice working
Undertake performance reporting, making use of scorecards and acting on performance issues.
Support the Strategic Sourcing Manager, helping shape the future supply chain in to align with the direction of the programme.
Assist in the compliance of import and export regulations working alongside the Raytheon Global trade team.
Liaise with the Engineering function to provide technical guidance and assistance to the supply chain.

Essential Skills & attributes:
Flexible and positive attitude, must be able to keep a cool head in a busy working environment.
Experience within a manufacturing environment, require engineering , procurement, and quality knowledge
Statistical analysis - strong statistical analysis skills, should be able to rigorously assess and analyse supplier or vendor data along with internal metrics
Technical skills and knowledge - thorough knowledge of technical elements of manufacturing and engineering, and the ability to identify flaws in processes or products
Quality assurance skills - experience with quality assurance, may need to inspect products and manufacturing environments to identify potential issues
Manufacturing and engineering skills - knowledgeable about manufacturing processes and engineering principles in order to make informed judgments and recommendations
Able to resolve simple and moderately complex supplier disputes
Interpretation of engineering drawings and ability to engage with Suppliers on Engineering related issues.
Process enhancement - provide guidance on improving process efficiency while maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and reliability
Ability to identify cost reduction opportunities
Communication skills - excellent written and verbal communication skills to serve as liaisons between companies and suppliers and prepare supplier quality assurance reports
Provide technical guidance and advice to suppliers and to decision-makers within Raytheon. This guidance can range from advice on process enhancement to suggestions to overhaul production and manufacturing elements to reduce defect rates works closely with the vendor to incorporate these recommendations.
Regular travel is a feature of this role.
