Procurement Specialist

Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the successful candidate will be an integral part of a busy Procurement team managing day to day demands for Aircraft Components, general commodities and services.
The candidate should have prior experience in a procurement role and knowledge of industry practices ideally in a manufacturing and / or Aviation business.
Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of personnel and management at a broad range of Suppliers to negotiate pricing and manage complex delivery schedules.
The role will involve working closely with all areas of the business and with line management to help inform strategic decisions.

Main Duties:
Creation of Requests for Quotation and select suppliers for both Build to Print drawing and standard equipment.
Creation of Purchase orders
Reconcile delivery and invoice queries with suppliers, challenging discrepancies
Assessment of supplier capabilities, ensuring value for money
Performance of Due Diligence & Governance
Implementation of standard Supplier Agreements
Management and measurement of suppliers
Maintenance of purchase orders / open order books
Identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Identification and implementation of supplier performance improvement actions
Support daily +/or weekly reviews with internal customers

Able to resolve simple and moderately complex supplier disputes.
Flexible and positive attitude, able to keep a col head in a busy working environment.

Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required).

Desirable Skills:
Interpretation of engineering drawings and ability to engage with Suppliers on Engineering related issues.
Experience in operating performance based scorecards and improving poor Supplier performance.
Understands the basics of Import / Export issues and their implication.
MCIPS certified.
