About the programme

Our KPMG360° Apprenticeship programmes offer a practical way to build an exciting career, earn a salary, gain valuable work experience and be supported to achieve a professional qualification - providing the opportunity to not only build skills and confidence, but an exceptional future too.

Based in one of our UK offices, you'll undertake varied work experience with technology teams across the firm. At the same time, you'll also study for a BSc degree in Digital and Technology Solutions with our training provider, BPP University, combining academic study with on-the-job training. Your tuition fees will be fully funded and we'll pay you a salary.

Responsibilities and tasks

You'll gain varied work experience in our technology teams, getting involved with teams across data analytics, cyber security, forensic technology and technology enablement. You could work on projects such as rolling out software, coming up with better ways to manage client data, or even designing a mobile-friendly app. The opportunities are incredibly varied - but what's not in doubt is that each placement will include:

- Becoming an integral part of the team, networking and developing relationships internally and with key members of our clients' teams.

- Developing commercial awareness, communication, project management and teamwork skills.

- Acquiring new technical skills and learning about leading best practices.

- Spending one day per week studying for your degree (during university term time) through a combination of virtual and face to face lectures.

- Completing degree modules flexibly in your spare time.

- Embracing new ideas and approaches, seeking out new responsibilities and proactively getting involved with a wide range of work.

- Developing an understanding of KPMG's values and demonstrating behaviours that inspire the trust and confidence of team members.

- You will take on tasks that directly add value to our clients and our business. Work will vary from placement to placement, but could include:

- Providing valuable support to client-facing teams.

- Research tasks and contributing to business development activity.

- General support to project teams.

Training, support and development towards
Professional Qualifications

First and second years

Along with other KPMG360° apprentices, you'll undertake an induction programme and will have regular training sessions to develop your professional skills (e.g. presentation skills, resilience, project management and team working).You will gain varied work experience and get involved with live projects. You will also begin your BSc degree in Digital and Technology Solutions.

Third and fourth years

During this phase, you'll start to specialise and pursue one of the following career paths and study specialisms: IT Consultant, Business Analyst, Network Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Software Engineer or Data Analyst. This will form the basis for your future career within KPMG.

Support and training

You'll be supported every step of the way and in addition to technical training, you will develop key professional skills to support you to succeed in the professional world.

During university term time, apprentices are given one day of study leave per week. The course is mainly delivered online and you can choose to study anywhere, making this a flexible offering for you (some of the sessions are delivered in the evening). You'll get a huge amount of support and resources from tutors, lectures, and online lecture support. You'll also take part in face to face seminars and workshops, enabling you to network with your cohort and develop your skills further.

You'll have quarterly reviews with your training provider and line manager to ensure the objectives of your apprenticeship are being met.

What do we look for?

We're looking for bright, enthusiastic people with a passion and aptitude for technology. Perhaps you've delivered a digital/technology focused project at school or college, such as creating or running a website, app or game? Or you might have started writing basic code or are able to demonstrate an interest in new emerging technologies.

Technology is a challenging area that's constantly evolving, so we'll be looking for evidence that you're passionate and committed to this career path.

As a general rule, you'll be expected to meet the following requirements:

GCSE and A-level Entry Requirements

- 5 GCSEs Grades A*-C or 4 - 9 GCSE including Maths and English Language

- Minimum of 104 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff point system (e.g BCC at A Level or equivalent qualifications*)* Or international equivalent

Scottish Entry Requirements

- A minimum of 5 Standard Grades at grades 1-3 which must include Maths and English (or equivalent Intermediate/National 5 qualification)

- Equivalent of 104 new UCAS tariff points at Higher/Advanced Higher level (e.g. BBBB).

Please note, that we only consider a candidate's 'top' 3 A-level grades (or equivalent) and do not accept General Studies.
