Role summary
The BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Site Security Controller (SSC) is responsible for managing the security operations of AI's Leeds site, to help secure the business by implementing Company and client security requirements relating to its people, infrastructure, information, and assets.
You will report to the Company Security Controller, on behalf of the Chief Security Officer, supporting the secure delivery of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence operations; helping ensure company operation and delivery with 'security in mind' and assure compliance with legislative, regulatory, industry, and client security requirements. This will include providing day-to-day operational support, guidance, and advice to staff with regards to all aspects of protective security; ensuring security policy is adhered to and/or risk managed appropriately. 
Due to the nature of the role there will be a requirement to be on and control the site key holders list and, as such may be subject to call out and/or work out of hours as required; including some immediate call outs.  Weekend working will also be required occasionally.
The ideal candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and have the ability to liaise with senior managers on sensitive matters.
What you'll be doing
  • Act as the first point of contact for site security and security accreditation related issues.
  • Ensure that UK Legislative and BAE Systems Group Policies are enforced.
  • As and when required, conduct site specific and corporate Security Awareness Training.
  • Management and maintenance of:
  • Electronic Access Control System;
  • Closed Circuit Television;
  • Intruder Detection Systems.
  • Act as Deputy Corporate Crypto Holder.
  • Liaise with Accreditation authorities, CTSA and local law enforcement.
  • Effective management of sub-contracted security resources.
  • Assist with any security tasks as deemed appropriate by the Company Security Controller.
  • Has an in depth knowledge of technical specifications for operational requirements and defines proportionate protection measures for assets.
  • Working with Office Managers/Site Operations to produce and maintain site operational requirements security reviews / risk assessments and site security instructions.
  • Where appropriate, provide advice and guidance on security matters to client projects and business stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage relationships with other BAE Systems Lines of Business security functions (specifically for collaborative working), external assessors, internal and external auditors.
  • As directed, support as required business standards processes and objectives such as ISO27001/ISO22301.
  • Where necessary, assist the regional Site Operations leads and Office Managers (and where appropriate) lead in the investigation of Security related incidents; conduct investigations and report site security breaches, as appropriate.
  • Respond to Security Aspects Letters relating to projects at the site.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with Business Division and Function managers to fully understand their operational requirements.
  • Ensuring delivery targets & KPI/SLA's are exceeded.
    What we're looking for
    • Ability to hold Developed Vetting National Security Clearances.
    • Hold Level 4 Security Diploma.
    • Significant experience of UK Government Security frameworks/regulations, such as:
    • Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework.
    • Joint Service Publication 440/441/490.
    • Information Assurance Standards.
  • Approved security products and build standards.
  • Knowledge of UK data protection and security legislation, and UK National Security Vetting regime.
  • Experience of Physical Security Integrated management systems:
  • Electronic Access Control Systems;
  • Intruder Detection Systems;
  • Closed Circuit Television.
