Title: Business Development Executive (Defence Solutions Centre) - 2 years FTC

The UK Defence Solution Centre

•Highly skilled team both permanent employees and industry secondees
•To provide strategic capability, technology and skills roadmaps through to specific intervention business cases
•Engage customer community through customer advisory groups
•The UKDSC is built around a core leadership team, comprising a CEO and Executive Directors and a Director of Operations
•The Executive Directors will lead our three main strategic aims
◦Focus on the customer
◦Develop UK capability
◦Improve value of investment

The very nature of the DGP and the founding principles of the UK DSC will require all UK DSC team members to be wholly interactive across all three strategic aims and contribute broadly to it's work and outcomes including projects, innovation and intervention.

The post of Head of Strategic Capability forms part of the develop UK capability strategic aim and is responsible for:

•Development and maintenance of capability maturity matrices in their domain, as directed by the Executive Director/strategy
•Liaison with the UKDSC Partners, Associates and other entities when constructing matrices, landscapes and roadmaps
•Analysis of UK value chain to assess capability gaps
•Development and maintenance of the landscapes and roadmaps
•The development of qualified interventions with supporting business cases

Role and Responsibilities:

•Represent RTN UK within the Defence Solutions Centre (DSC) to ensure both the success of the DSC but also to enhance RTN UKs role within the DGP and DSC
•Act as an SME within Capability Team and provide subject matter support to other capability leads as required
•Develop Capability Development Plans to build and develop UK capability in identified and agreed areas
•Develop and agree a consistent understanding of medium-long-term UK MoD capability needs
•Lead related community of interest workshops and other meetings in support of the strategy
•Develop good working relationship with the necessary UK government departments such as MOD, DIT DSO and FCO, industry partners, and relevant academic institutions.
•Work collaboratively with RTN UK BD staff and individual Capture Teams to enhance Customer/industry/Regional knowledge and intelligence
•Ensure accurate audit trail maintained of all Customer/industry stakeholder engagement and all contact/activities are recorded
•Provide input into monthly reports, MRBs and reviews with the RTN UK BD & Strategy Director and Director Exports
•Develop knowledge and understanding of the Raytheon Portfolio to enhance the value added and taken from the DSC secondment to support future roles within Raytheon UK

Experience and Skills Required:

•A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with other team members
•Proven ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond quickly to changing situations in complex project environments, prepare responses/narrative quickly and clearly and use personal initiative
•Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, highly articulate team player
•Excellent communication both written and verbal
•Confident individual with a proactive attitude
•Strong project management and people management skills
•High degree of accuracy in executing work
•Ability to schedule work and deliver to tight deadlines
