Primary Role:

•Reporting to the Training Services Business Lead, the job holder will be responsible for devising all training solutions for the business. This will encompass the full life cycle from devising a market strategy, signing off on a 5 year business plan, developing win strategies for specific opportunities, writing proposals and contract deliverables and leading the solution team in executing contract requirements.
•The UK Government training strategy comprises approximately $1.5-$2.0Bn bookings opportunities including major, strategic military training contracts in the UK and Middle east. Raytheon's chosen market is where the customer's training requirement is relatively large, complex, bespoke, transformational and is intended to deliver tangible business benefits.
•Important opportunities include the British Army's Collective Training Transformation Programme; Project Selborne, the Royal Navy's programme to transform the management and delivery of the majority of RN UK shore-based training; multi-million pound middle eastern training opportunities inserting technology innovations, virtual reality and gaming technologies; and a host of other complex and transformational training programmes.
•The Head of Engineering for Training Solutions will be required to provide thought leadership combining three key capabilities to be successful: 1. Leveraging Raytheon's current world leading tool, techniques and expertise; 2. Knowledge of cutting edge learning technologies and methodologies to remain competitive; and 3. Knowledge of the UK Government market, especially MoD and military. Candidates must be able to work at all levels within Raytheon UK and US, partner companies and, most importantly, customer organisations by engaging with key stakeholders (internal and external), and identifying and addressing their collective training needs. A strong innovative and commercially aware approach will be critical to delivering success.
•This is a complex and challenging role that will be both highly rewarding and high profile, with extensive communication and interfacing requirements with UK Govrenment organisations. It demands excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina and, above all, a personal commitment to providing the HMG with a world class collective training system and service. Work location can be flexible, but there will be a focus on Raytheon's facility in London and customers facilities which are typically located in the south and west of England.

Education and Experience - Essential

•Degree in Science, Engineering or Business Management, plus established progressive experience in designing and developing training methodologies
•Established background in Defence or UK Government
•Experience in a senior learning management service programmes to UK and international customers and specifically with complex training transformations
•Experience of working within the regulatory training frameworks and training assurance requirements of the Defence industry and public sector
•A successful track record in setting up and executing full lifecycle large-scale design and integration of blended learning programmes.
•Capable of managing and motivating a diverse and geographically dispersed team in the delivery of innovative solutions
•Demonstrable experience of senior Customer stakeholder engagement specifically with military customers
Education and Experience - Desirable

•Direct knowledge of delivering programmes in industry, including profit and loss responsibility and business strategy development
•Member of a relevant Engineering or Training Professional Institution
•Raytheon Programme Leadership Certification
