KPMG's IT Risk Management ("IRM")
team is focused on Financial Services clients across Banking, Insurance and Investment Management. Our services broadly divide into the following areas:
- Technology Audit (Statutory External Audit Support).
- Service Organisation
Assessment Reviews (SOAR)
- IT Internal Audit.
- Other services such as IT due diligence, Independent Program Assurance, SOx
Assurance.
Role & Responsibilities
Working in FS IRM regions which covering non-London FS clients you will be responsible for the Scottish IRM team, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow reporting directly to the FS IRM Regions Partner.You will become integral to leading & developing the current team of 25 IT risk professionals taking responsibility for the following:
- Leading engagements to our high standards of risk management processes.
- Promoting high quality audit of IT and leveraging IT for an efficient audit.
- Building, managing and deepening relationships across our clients.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining relationships with colleagues across other teams within KPMG.
- Service line development, for example Vendor Risk Management.
- Developing and nurturing existing talent in the team to optimise
potential and eliminate attrition.
- Becoming a central and positive force in delivering our vision of creating an inclusive and diverse culture.
- Attracting world class talent to the IRM team.
- Embedding innovation into our proposition.
- Delivering value added assurance services to clients.
- Leading multi-disciplinary
project teams in delivery of assurance assignments.
- Actively identifying and initiating new development opportunities, and managing business activities.
- Contributing to practice management, e.g. knowledge sharing, training, proposition development, and knowledge management.
- Working closely with colleagues in other disciplines such as Cyber.
Experience & Background
- Experience of operating effectively and comfortably with Board and Executive level individuals.
- Understanding of the complex nature of FS clients as well and related entities (FinTech,
Challenger Banks, Building Societies).
- Leading IT External Audit engagements, from inception of tender through to final delivery.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree qualification in IT desirable or equivalent experience.
- Professional qualification in Audit and Assurance desirable.
- A broad skill-set across many standards such as CoBIT,
Trust Services Principles and criteria (from the AICPA).
- Demonstrable technical expertise across IT / External Audit, IT Internal Audit, Third Party risk management / assurance & other Technology Risk assurance.
- Deep knowledge within technology risks and controls assurance and awareness of the cyber
threat landscape.
- Ideally the successful candidate will have led work in these areas and as a result, improved a client relationship.
- Aptitude for leading, planning and delivering high quality client presentations.
- Comprehensive understanding of data analytics
and cloud services.
