Summary of role
An exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join Raytheon UK in our Global Sensors Division based in Harlow. The role will report to the Software Team Leader for Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) with the successful candidate taking a position on the ATMS software engineering team. Good communication skills are required to work with a multi-disciplined team. We are working on a number of projects, delivering a new system to our customers whilst managing legacy software delivered in a Waterfall delivery model. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle of multiple programmes. Main duties of the position
Basic Objective: A member of the Software Engineering Team of ATMS within the Global Sensors mission area, the objective is to contribute to the development of estimates, writing software, bug resolution, testing and documentation as part of a multi skilled software workforce. To be part of the team to deliver the ATMS software programmes to their best conclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting estimates for software tasks whilst considering the full software lifecycle
• Collaborating with the Software Team to implement the best solutions to engineering problems with the software.
• Supporting resolution of issues related to tool, process and environment selection.
• Keeping abreast of relevant technology changes in order to support new technology insertion.
• Involvement in the technical planning and management of projects.
• Defining the scope and drive the strategy for teams.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills
•Good knowledge of embedded software languages, toolsets and architectures
•Experience of Real Time Operating System concepts and operations
•Practical use of and writing tests for, static and dynamic testing tools such as pc-lint, VectorCast or CodeSonar.
•Experience of unit testing using tools such as cpp-unit or similar in an embedded environment.
•Demonstrable experience of using embedded software debugging tools such as JTAG, GDD and Code Composer Studio or similar to find and fix software issues.

Desirable Skills
•Experience of ED-109A development requirements/processes
•Experience working on Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) ,Power systems or systems of a similar high integrity
•Experience of Agile/SCRUM delivery

Degree in Engineering or Numerate Subject desirable but not essential.
