My client is one of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK and are committed to providing products and services of the very highest quality.

I am currently recruiting for a Radius Systems Engineer, where you will be responsible for building a new radius platform. This will involve building the platform and testing scenarios against other products and simulation testing. You must have RADIUS/KVM/VMware experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Connectivity department has a responsibility to drive technology change across the our client's operating companies spanning multiple countries around the world. The Connectivity function responsibilities include the plan, design and build of E2E service Architectures and Technology selection support for specific technology areas.
  • It's about being accountable for developing and documenting high level architecture, directional steers, guidelines and acting as a technical design authority and key programme initiative.
  • It's the development and delivery of Connectivity Platforms, which is seen to be at the heart of CPE product initiatives.
  • It will influence our client's next generation connectivity platform strategy, including AAA, WAG, WiFi, ACS (Auto Configuration Server), CPE Telemetry Message Brokering (MQTT, WPA), Dynamic Cable Configuration File Management, Cable, platforms needed to support multimedia Voice, Video, Messaging and Data services.
  • It's developing documents and maintaining architectural guidelines/policies; being sure to consider network, product, security, compliance, operations, planning and engineering requirements as well as the impact on IT, system integration and test teams.
  • Our client is uniquely positioned, having significant scale, with telephony, broadband, entertainment & mobile operations across 12 European countries, providing the perfect environment for a network / systems engineer / architect to expand their knowledge and experience working across the latest trends and technologies, while engaging with leading equipment manufacturers.

Experience Required
  • RADIUS/KVM/VMware experience.
  • You are a technical expert in area of Connectivity Platforms, with deep understanding of Broadband Forum / Cable Labs reference architectures, and how they can be applied to Cable, Voice, and WiFi Platforms.
  • You will have experience working with leading telco / cable equipment manufacturers in integrating Connectivity Platforms projects with demonstrable success in achieving business objectives.
  • You will have "hand-on" Systems experience in integrating connectivity applications, working from "Bare Metal", Virtual, OS Level, able to build up applications, in order to see through initiatives through PoC to Live Deployment.
  • You will have experience and detailed understanding of interfaces and protocols used in the collection, application and notification of control & policy across multiple access methodologies to support modern converged services.
  • You will have experience in Mobile Platforms related architectures/standards and guidelines, obtained with either a network operator or an equipment supplier
  • You will be able to drive architectural direction and substantiate balanced recommendations that reflect a broader business perspective in addition to a technology perspective.
  • You are comfortable taking the technical lead of a project and supporting the coordination of a multi-vendor ecosystem.
  • You have a strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
