Our client is a European law firm with market leading practices in many of the world's most dynamic sectors.

Their network has more than 1000 people working across 20 offices providing highly commercial advice based on an in-depth understanding of their clients' needs.

Your new role
  • Manage the firm's network infrastructure across all offices.
  • Ensure all network related hardware is proactively monitored.
  • Work with colleagues and third parties to design and implement new services to enhance the network.
  • Actively drive improvements and make recommendations regarding the network infrastructure technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network related issues.
  • Install and configure network infrastructure in new offices as required.
  • Troubleshoot Skype for Business issues which are deemed network related.
  • Generate capacity management statistics for the WAN, LAN and internet circuits on a weekly basis.
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies/protocols i.e. LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, routing and subnet addressing.
  • Proactively monitor the performance of the network across all offices.
  • Deal with general 3rd line support calls which have been assigned to the IT Technical Services Team.
  • Setup and configure VMware servers on the firms IaaS platform as required.


What you'll need to succeed


  • 2 - 3 years' experience as a network analyst/engineer, supporting and troubleshooting LAN /WAN and wireless networks.
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies/protocols i.e. LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, routing and subnet addressing.
  • Cisco Networking experience and demonstrable working knowledge.
  • Experience supporting MPLS and VPN networks.
  • Excellent knowledge of Wireless, LAN and firewall appliances.
  • Experience of network implementation\\expansion work.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Good awareness of network management, security and configuration.
  • Desirable Skills/Experience
  • ITIL foundation or knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • CCNA in Cisco.
  • Experience of WAN optimisation technologies such as Riverbed.
