Lead Hardware Engineer

Do you have experience with DDR3, 10G Ethernet and other interface technologies? Have you led high speed design on embedded systems? Have you performed EMC development? If so, we want to hear from you immediately.

Seeking a lead hardware engineer at a Cambridge based firm. You will be responsible for developing technical product knowledge, and pushing changes to the design and maintenance of products. You will also:

• Demonstrate, integrate, and prototype hardware platforms for “system demos”
• Design, prototype and validate hardware platforms relevant to Agile product development
• Give architectural and strategic input to assist establishment of product roadmaps
• Make sure future product requirements are met by solutions
• Work together with Product Management to ensure and decide on hardware platform priorities
• Develop your personal skills with your manager
• Set out work with the Engineering team to ensure that planning commitments are understood

You'll be leading high speed design on high performing embedded systems, so it is essential that you have:

• Developed products with DSP and ASSP, in addition to 64 or 32 bit processors, FPGA and high-speed memory devices
• Previously analysed technical problems and provide solutions to requirements.
• Previously used DDR3, LP, PCle, 10G Ethernet, 4 and other high speed interface technologies.
• Utilised low power design techniques and microcontroller development
• Worked with ECAD systems such as Altium
• Understanding of RF, mechanical engineering, analogue, and electro-mechanical fundamentals
• Performed EMC development, safety standards and signal integrity analysis
• Designed for testing, support, and manufacturing
• Knowledge of engineering processes and standards
• Can achieve a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance
• Previously worked in an Agile development team at scale (e.g. SAFe)
