Job Description
The Director of Finance, Technology Operations role sits within the Technology Operations finance team. Technology Operations is responsible delivering Service Excellence while maintaining technical infrastructure including its data centre's, cloud, networks and desktop computing environment. The finance team is responsible for business partnering with the Technology Operations Leadership team and providing all financial information to support the team in meeting its objectives and drive informed business decision-making.

The role partners with key members of the Leadership Team as the business undertakes a program of change and productivity improvement. The successful candidate should have proven ability to business partner senior stakeholders in a dynamic, fast paced environment and lead a team to solve problems and improve processes.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Business Partnering for Head of Vendor Management, Head of Service Excellence and Head of Implementation - understand the organisation in terms of strategy, priorities and technology to create spend profiles and identify risks and opportunities.  Drive continuous improvement in the Business Partnering skills of the team.
  • Project/Initiative Management - enable delivery of productivity/TSA exit initiatives.  Develop process to track spend and savings.  Co-ordinate monthly and quarterly processes to re-forecast spend/savings. 
  • Vendor Management - Understand and input into the financial implications of software, maintenance and managed service contracts; including application of the correct accounting treatment and review of savings.  Identify opportunities for efficiencies in the Vendor relationship
  • Financial Management and Reporting - Oversee the preparation of focussed, value-add reporting on the Tech Ops cost base and any associated one-time costs.  Develop reporting strategy and input into KPIs to be consumed by the Tech Finance team to present to ELT - ELT-2

Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies:

Essential skills
o   8+ years experience in a Finance role, preferably within Technology or Financial Services
  • Proficiency in working effectively and delivering results in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, global business environment.
o   Experience driving programme of change and continuous improvement
o   Ability to lead and influence a team of finance professionals and multiple stakeholders across the business and finance
  • Demonstrate strong customer-focus with a commercial mindset, business partnering, communication and analytical skills
o   Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources
  • Expert level with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

Education/ Certifications:
  • Professional Finance Qualification - e.g. MBA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
