A prominent Central Government Department is currently seeking a Head of Cyber Security Engineering, to provide oversight and direction of Cyber Security services across the estate.
Your new role
As the Head of Cyber Security Engineering, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and continuously improving Cyber Security services, processes and technologies to ensure they are fit for purpose.
This is a technical role, with the responsibility to maintain the ongoing reliability, performance, and support of these Cyber Security solutions, including responding to incidents and problems, monitoring, testing and troubleshooting, and planning for growth. In addition, you will lead a team to write and review technical designs, own technical delivery plans, contribute to technology strategies and product selections and provide technical guidance to various stakeholders.

In this leadership role, you will provide expert knowledge of Cyber Security technologies and best practices, gained through your demonstrated technical experience in Cyber Security Engineering. Key skills required include:

- Strong understanding of Microsoft infrastructure/architecture
- Use of Ansible or similar products
- Use of Linux systems and programs
- Experience with open stack software such as Kafka, ELK, SIGMA etc
- Experience developing technical designs and delivery plans
- Understanding of current Cyber Security technology trends
- Sound problem solving and analysis skills, with a high attention to detail
- Strong communications skills with the ability to share knowledge and educate others
- Experience in leading and maintaining relationships in a diverse, distributed team
