A high profile Ministerial Government Department is currently seeking a Cyber Security Operations Centre Manager to manage the SOC and oversee the ongoing Cyber Security of the organisation, from an operational level.

Your new role
The Cyber Security Operations Centre Manager will be responsible for planning and driving the execution of all functions relating to Cyber Security, specifically overseeing the efficient and effective operations of all security tools, implementing new Cyber controls, measuring against established baselines and automating where possible.

You will collaborate daily with peers and lead a team of Cyber Security Analysts, to meet strategic and tactical goals. Responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing all aspects of the Cyber Security Operations Centre including reporting and meeting health and operational metrics
• Revising and developing processes to strengthen the current Cyber Security Operations framework
• Drive thing creation of reports, dashboards and metrics for SOC operations, including presenting to management
• Managing the integration of security tools, ensuring the right security logs are feeding the SIEM
• Fostering the use of security best practices across the SOC team members
• Ensuring all operational processes, run books and platform strategies are documented, exercised and continually improved
• Driving oversight for the after-action assessments of security control failures, outages, root cause analysis and problem management

What you'll need to succeed
As the Cyber Security Operations Centre Manager, you will have senior level expertise in leading a SOC or a team of Cyber Security Analysts and an exceptional understanding of Cyber Security Operations. You will offer these key skills, amongst others:

• Experience providing technical security operations, with a working knowledge of network security
• A broad knowledge of underpinning IT systems and networking, including operating systems, TCP/IP switching and routing, firewalls, databases and cloud infrastructure
• Experience managing security incidents in a fast paced, pressured environment
• A demonstrated understanding of IT systems, platforms and software development techniques
• A strong understanding of Microsoft infrastructure/architecture
• Excellent team leaderships capabilities
