The enthusiastic and friendly IT Care team is looking for someone with a passion for providing quality customer service and people management to join them as the Deskside Engineer Lead for Aviva's Northern sites.

This role can be based in any of our UK sites but there will be the need for you to travel and work at our offices in Perth, Glasgow, York, Sheffield and Ireland.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 13 Deskside Engineers across Perth, Glasgow, Sheffield and York.
  • Operational management of a third party Deskside team in Ireland.
  • Ensure the frontline team you support and supervise delivers quality and reliable service to Aviva colleagues.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1 sessions and mentoring to empower your team and allow them to develop professionally.
  • Work as part of the IT Care Cultural Team - working continuously to change the culture within IT Care. Offer creative and forward thinking ideas on new ways of working and present these regularly to senior management.
  • Encourage collaborative working and active participation in your team to implement improvements and report back on progress and efficiency savings.
  • Occasional travel to other Aviva locations as required for team or project meetings.

Skills and Experience
  • Capable of working on own initiative with a can-do attitude.
  • Proven people management experience, can delegate appropriately, motivate direct reports, celebrate successes and act as a role model to the team.
  • Is passionate about providing an excellent customer service.
  • Has an innovative approach to work, is confident in inspecting and adapting methods of working.
  • A solid background in Deskside Engineering/IT Support and a strong technical understanding of:
  • Windows 7 & 10.
  • Microsoft Office 365.
  • Microsoft Intune.
  • Microsoft SCCM.
  • Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols.
  • Mobile devices (iPhones, iPads).
  • Mobility / VPN technologies.
  • Remote desktop support tools.
  • Hardware support for Desktops, laptops & printers.

  • Annual salary of £30,650 to £45,000 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
