Procurement Specialist

Summary of Role:
Reporting to the Availability Manager, the candidate shall be responsible for managing the day to day procurement demands placed on Supplier Management team under the ISSS contract.
The role will require a hands on approach creating requests for pricing, raising and modifying purchase orders, managing an order book for a commodity stream, liaising with suppliers at senior and / or middle management level without supervision and general day to day procurement activities.

Main Duties
Creation of Requests for Quotation and Purchase Agreements
Assessment of supplier capabilities, best value for money and risk
Identification and implementation of contingency plans against supply risk
Performance of due diligence
Selection of suppliers
Management and measurement of suppliers using agreed toolsets,
Maintenance of order books and associated metrics
Identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Identification and implementation of supplier performance improvement actions
Where appropriate support the Procurement Group Leader in Customer technical meetings CCB (Change Control Board), LTC (Local Technical Committee), JOWG (Joint Obsolescence Working Group).

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Excellent communication/ influencing/ relationship building skills at all levels
Discipline of execution with urgency
Results/ goal driven
Moderate financial awareness
Basic negotiation skills
Good time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
Knowledge of MRP/ SAP
Innovative problem solver with analytical mind
Extensive experience of supply chain solutions
Attention to detail
IT literate -excel, word, PowerPoint, internet
Knowledge of contract law
Proven track record of continuous improvement implementation

Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (Raytheon UK will sponsor as required).

Desirable:
Commodity and / or platform knowledge
Understanding of technical requirements
