I am searching for a Senior Business Analyst to work alongside the Lead Analyst, identifying; edge-cases, error conditions, dependencies and impacts to other areas of the business, developing a deep understanding of the current product functionality. If successful, you will anticipate impacts of change within the organisation, work with Systems Architects and Project Stakeholders to validate requirements and analyse models via techniques such as reviews and walkthroughs, to enable user acceptance testing.

You will plan products for future work with key stakeholders, to formulate and communicate the business vision for the project, as well as mapping requirements and defining the scope of project work. You will work with the Systems Architect and Project Managers closely to ensure that development teams are effectively communicating. You will also liaise with software developers to ensure that the final product is in accordance with the business specification, as well as testers, to ensure that all software components are tested adequately and participate in Quality Assurance activities.

Key Tasks

  • Capture stakeholder requests and translate them into system specifications; functional, non-functional, user interface, reports and external interface specifications
  • Working with the “product owner” for customer projects in an Agile delivery team
  • Participating in Agile meetings such as; sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Creating detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Working with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into projects
  • Using data modelling practices to analyse findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes
  • Gaining agreement from the allocated project team of the best method of introducing the project to the existing solution

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience of working on a successful agile project on-time implementation in a software environment
  • Ideally have experience of working within behaviour driven development
  • Experience of aiding managing resources over geographical areas
  • An ability to negotiate and clarity of thought will be vital
  • Experience of the whole project life cycle and ability to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the depths of system testing, and at each stage in between
  • The ability to foster motivation within a delivery team to meet tight deadlines
  • The ability to have a strong impact and influence key decisions
  • Having previous experience of dealing with IT systems in clinical environments would be highly advantageous
  • Be an articulate team player with excellent customer care and interpersonal skills who is self-motivated and possesses the ability to prioritise and deal with escalated queries in an efficient manner
  • Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice or IIBA/IREB qualifications ideally
