£40,000 - £50,000 + Excellent benefits

Shift Patterns - 4 days on (2 x days & 2 x nights) 4 days off.

Our client, a leader and specialist in IT Security Management is looking to add a number of MDR // Cyber Security Analysts to their team in Gloucester. You'll play a key part of the Manage Detect and Respond (MDR) Team by providing first class analytical support to our diverse range of customers and delivering outstanding quality of service.

Job Purpose - Cyber Security Analyst


  • Analyse, investigate and respond to customer security incidents as part of the Managed Detection and Response service
  • Monitor threats and the health of security sensors and endpoints
  • Own day-to-day responsibility for customers support issues and change requests
  • Deliver a service that customers praise and are truly able to call an extension of their security team / virtual security team
  • Inspire and support other team members (knowledge sharing / on job training)
  • Support and direct the growth of the service without losing our individuality
  • Support the Operations Managers, Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and team members in the improvement of the service.

  • Main Accountabilities

    • Continuously monitor the cyber-security events queue
    • Triage cyber-security events
    • Monitor threats and the health of security sensors and endpoints
    • Collect data and context necessary for troubleshooting and resolving the issue(s)
    • Detect and validate a cyber-security incident
    • Define the cyber-security incident in specific terms
    • Health monitoring of sensors and event-flows
    • Notify the SOC constituents
    • Service customer requests (support/changes) through phone/email/online/onsite
    • Perform deep-dive cyber-security incident analysis by correlating data from various sources

    • Methods and motivations of threat actors to IT platforms
    • IT security incident management processes and tools
    • IT operations and support (aligned to ITIL)
    • IT security risk assessment
    • IT forensics techniques, tools and procedures
