This role, based in New York, reports to the Director of Indirect Tax and primarily supports the US indirect tax needs. But in addition, the position will also serve as a resource to our State and Local income tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world class tax team with significant potential to act as a subject matter expert across all state tax matters. You will be part of a global Indirect Tax team with colleagues in London, Beijing and Bangalore. And even though they are spread out geographically, it is a close knit, supportive team which fosters an environment that enables and empowers each individual to do their job.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage indirect tax compliance and associated consulting projects
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources on compliance workflows and data collection
  • Review of tax payment calculations
  • Monitor tax legislation, regulations, rulings, etc. and report on how they effect Refinitiv
  • Assist in documentation and governance of all indirect tax processes and procedures
  • Work with procurement and other business functions to reduce and mitigate overpayment of indirect taxes
  • Assist in analyzing the implications of legislative and regulatory changes within the indirect tax field of responsibility
  • Support state income and indirect tax controversy cases
  • Oversee state & local income tax notices and similar correspondence
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects relating to compliance and reporting

Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies
  • At least 5+ years Indirect tax experience and at least an elementary proficiency in state income tax concepts
  • Sound knowledge of OneSource Indirect Tax Determination
  • Commercially focused and with a proactive approach to finding solutions and be able to make decisions which meet indirect tax requirements and business priorities
  • Ability to work directly with other teams in a collaborative manner with the skills to communicate technical indirect tax concepts to non-specialists and to senior levels of management
  • Demonstrate a curious mind, keen to learn, ambitious to contribute and make a difference, and a genuinely great teammate with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
