Supplier Quality Engineer
Harlow

Summary:
An opportunity for a Senior SQA to support and lead the development of our suppliers, processes & people.
Ensure the integrity of Raytheon products, materials and processes satisfy business, customer and regulatory requirements by
Support and lead the development of our suppliers, processes and people and facilitating and supporting with the identification, implementation and flow-down of required customer, company and regulatory requirements and providing assurance through RESA activities and continuous improvement.

Main Duties:
Supplier Development, Interaction and Oversight
Development of professional working relationships with suppliers and be the interface on quality matters including requirements flow down and verification of compliance with assigned suppliers and areas of responsibility
Plan, implement and conduct Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Audits (RESA) to improve processes, reduce risk and assure compliance
Ensure clear communication with suppliers & identify opportunities for supplier development
Supplier flow down of APQP/PPAP and all technical requirements
Ensure clear communication of requirements to be met and maintained to satisfy the Quality Management System
Develop and apply statistical techniques to support process management
Develop and apply work practices including FMEA, MSA, PPAP
Ensure suppliers are able to establish root cause
Validate corrective and preventative measures
Monitor supplier quality performance & quality defects and lead improvement activities
Introduce the application of quality tools and techniques to facilitate the monitoring, reporting and resolution of quality issues
Conduct source inspections
Conduct Independent test witnessing and First Article Reports (on site or at suppliers)
Ensure continued awareness of external standards and regulatory requirements

Documentation
Raise and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), ensuring level of detail and severity is applied, monitor supplier progress and ensure SCAR closure is achieved in a timely manner
Ensure contractual and Quality requirements are fully understood, met and flowed down to the required level, including suppliers and sub-contractors
Update and maintain quality records (including SCARS, 8D's, QCI and customer returns, complaints, audits and inspection plans)
Review and ensure the processing of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's)
Generate, review and maintain Quality, Supplier Quality and Configuration Management Plans
Update & maintain SCAR reports and action trackers
Ensure timely processing of returns (escalating as appropriate)

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Experience in a Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering Organisation
Basic understanding of configuration and data control processes and procedures
Ability to review & interpret drawings and test reports
Conversant with requirements of AS9100 and/or ISOTS16949
Internal Auditor or training to AS9100 and/or ISO/TS 16949
Degree/HNC/HND/equivalent in an Engineering discipline
Supplier quality experience at a similar level ideally within an electronics manufacturing environment

Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance

Desirable:
Knowledge of CCA, box build (mechanical manufacturing knowledge)
Working knowledge of IPC soldering std.
Good level of commercial awareness
