We are currently working with a Public-Sector Client in the Birmingham area who is looking for a Network Engineer to join their existing team. The role is a 6-month contract with likelihood of extension, taking you well into the New Year.
Your new role
To be responsible for the technical design, specification, implementation, management, security, support and maintenance of the data networks ensuring the business requirements of all stakeholders are met. As a snap shot you will be providing technical expertise for Wireless network systems, Physical network layers, network security, Telephony and Datacentres. You will also be acting as a technical mentor and providing training to other engineers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have an excellent understanding of network services & protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, e-mail, FTP, SFTP. A technology focus of Cisco VSS,TCP/IP, IPsec, QoS, Telephony, Multicast, etc.).Dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) VPN (Site to Site, Remote Access and Any connect) Special security Products - Fortigate, Checkpoint Firewall; Fortisiem, Virtualised Environments (VMware Vsphere,HCI software solutions, Horizon View, Cisco NSX,vSAN) Experience with Cisco network devices : switches, WiFi controllers , ISE, Prime, CMX. You will have e xperience working within an ITIL environment. A CCNA/CCNP Certification is desirable or equivalent knowledge acquired by experience.
