Principal Application Security Engineer > £90k

Central London based tech company is currently recruiting for a Principal Application Security Engineer. This tech company has been recognised as one of Europe’s most successful high growth organisations and is continuing its growth by expanding its Application Security team

  • The Lead / Principle role require significant commercial experience in driving change in the SDLC and acting as a SME / Lead on App Sec issues
  • This role will require someone to take the lead on application security issues and act as a subject matter expert in securing the Software development lifecycle
  • I am ideally looking to speak to candidates with 
    • Advanced knowledge of the OWASP initiatives, advanced coding skills, experience in implementing SAST and/or DAST within a CI/CD environment, Security & SIEM tools along with some programming, scripting or coding skills
  • This is an opportunity to
    • Join a greenfield security environment at a 300 person, £5bn tech company to lead or join their Application Security environment
    • Provide aspirational leadership as an Application Security (DevSecOps) expert to a small, growing team of security engineers
    • Work with but not restricted to working with AWS, Azure, Google, IDS, IPS, WAF, OWASP, Security in SDLC, CI/CD, Jenkins, TeamCity, REST API’s, .Net, Python, Nodejs, Bash, Powershell, SAST, Agile methodologies etc
    • Work on automation, codifying & building security into the architecture of the tech organisation. This will involve excellent experience of application security in a Cloud environment in any industry (broad industry experience is preferred) and strong communication skills to help educate the entire tech team on why security being built into their processes matters and the most effective ways to make the relevant changes
    • Represent security at the architecture guild; this will require gravitas & strong influencing skills
