Job Description
My client, a prestigious FS firm, are looking for a season privacy advisor on a 12 month FTC to lead the privacy programme on a large scale payments programme currently underway. You will ideally have experience working in financial services, and also have a background in Information security and technology.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce, execute and maintain a plan and supporting approach for implementing Privacy-by-Design across the Programme by applying privacy best practice. This will include both the delivery of a set of mitigation actions identified in a recently completed Programme DPIA and, more long term, future updates to the DPIA and any resulting data privacy updates to the new system.
  • Co-ordinate, plan and deliver a set of actions identified in the Programme DPIA, in order to mitigate risk and strengthen compliance with the GDPR. This will involve providing privacy expertise into specific areas of the Programme and working with Programme action owners to drive the resolution of these. Any changes to designs or documentation will need to be handled.
  • Be accountable for updating the Programme DPIA at agreed points in the future of the Programme. This will ensure that as design understanding progresses in different areas of the Programme, the design can be properly assessed and any privacy risks to individuals identified and fully mitigated.
  • Provide ongoing expertise, knowledge and input to identified work streams to ensure appropriate data, privacy, GDPR and compliance issues are appropriately considered and mitigated in concluding actions. Additionally providing knowledge and expertise to projects and work streams to ensure elaborated designs adopt best practice and introduce Privacy-by-Design.
  • Deliver the above activities to time, providing regular progress reporting, updates to steering groups and management of day to day progress, addressing any blockers or challenges as they arise while escalating where required.
  • Consult with Technology Delivery Partner (TDP) and wider teams to ensure a single view on privacy best practice is adopted and implemented.
  • Ensure any related approvals, governance or reviews of future privacy work, either by Legal or Privacy stakeholders internal or external (i.e. external legal counsel), is undertaken to the satisfaction of the Programme.
