Your new company
Our client is a large research facility that invests over £2 Billion every year into departments and organisations that cover the entire research spectrum, from medical and biological sciences to astronomy, physics and environmental sciences. Right now, they require an interim Release Engineer to support the delivery of their new large internal system and its associated applications to ensure releases are maintained at the highest standard.

Your new role
As a Release Engineer you will be a key member of the Release Domain. Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery of software to all platforms while maintaining a focus on improving and automating releases. You will take ownership and manage all releases, working in an environment of continuous improvement with a strong focus on scale and efficiency. You will be responsible for all activities within the release process ensuring both stability and quality is maintained through to delivery working closely with the software automation team to ensure the builds and quality of software released is to the desired standard.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have prior experience of automating release and build processes using enterprise technologies and systems working in Agile environments to produce detailed and unambiguous design artefacts. You will have a strong understanding of end to end software development lifecycles used on large scale agile projects and the ability to work in a self-organized team, picking up new or unfamiliar technical concepts quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively influence multi-functional engineering teams will lead to your success in this role.
