Essential Characteristics
- Collaborating with internal and external partners to engineer Cloud Security solutions and services that meet their needs
- Design and engineer Cloud Security solutions using cloud native and 3rd party enterprise tooling
- Design, develop, test, deploy, debug and document all software security components in our enterprise cloud security platforms
- Ensure cloud security architecture and design is adaptable to changing business requirements and cloud provider capabilities
- Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies for implementation
- Quickly prototype proposed ideas to determine suitability and illustrate these concepts with working code
- Drive technical implementation and infrastructure standards within the team through design and code reviews
- Operational 3rd line support, e.g. troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem resolution
- Strong technical expertise and troubleshooting skills for large scale enterprise systems and software
- Mentor colleagues on effective, performant and secure cloud concepts
- Communicate timelines, service dependencies, resource constraints and progress with key stakeholders quickly and effectively
- Foster and maintain cross-functional relationships with both technical and non-technical resources, with a focus on data driven decision making

Qualifications / Requirements
- Batchelor's Degree in Computer Science / similar degree of 4 years or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience implementing enterprise security solutions, such as WAF, IPS, SIEM, Anti-malware, Vulnerability Management
- 2+ years of public cloud experience, on one or more of the following platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP
- 2+ years of experience in a software engineering role
- Scripting experience, ideally in python and PowerShell
- Extensive experience designing, building, deploying and operating software products that present practical and understandable solutions to complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to conceive, manage and complete software deliverables
- Experience working in large network environments and cloud infrastructure landscapes
- Expert level understanding of security technologies and concepts
- Expert level understanding of public or hybrid cloud technologies, including IaaS and platform services such as databases, containers and serverless
- Experience with agile development methodologies, rapid application development and project management
- Experience working with CI/CD technologies and DevOps concepts
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and strong collaboration skills
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%

Desired Characteristics
- Significant experience automating physical and virtual network and platform security
- Expert at server-side application development
- Proficient with RESTful services and data exchange
- Experience creating and managing projects using GIT revision control
- Experience with large-scale distributed architectures (SOA and REST), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Deep understanding of HTTP, DNS, TCP/UDP, IPv4/6 networking and protocols
- Ability and desire to mentor peers both within and outside your team
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM or GCTI
