Summary of Role:
Contracts Manager for the post contract management of a complex MoD programme
Within a Business Area, leads Contract Management activity in respect of relationship management strategies and responses to customer Requests for Proposal. Working under consultative direction, establishes and maintains routine and non-routine contracts of moderate/high value and complexity. Identifies and manages commercial risk. Interfaces internally and externally at senior level. Contributes to Business Area strategies.

Main Duties:
Lead the Contract management of a complex MoD Programme

Preparation of Teaming and Contract management strategies and relationship management plans at Business Area and Programme level.
Development of innovative Contracting solutions in support of Proposals
Negotiate Non-Standard Contracts and manage non routine issues through senior functional management.
Identify and manage risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with customers and other project team members
Administration of complex due diligence activity
Responsible for programme financial performance associated with contracts
Responsible for Contract compliance and performance
Responsible for delivery and invoicing of goods and services
Maintenance of records
Functional representative at customer and internal reviews including Gates, MRBs and EACs
Produce business cases/ briefing materials for senior management reviews
Participate in/lead cross-functional improvement activity
Support relationship management initiatives
Deputising for the Airborne Solutions Head of Commercial

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Experienced in International contract development, negotiation and management
Experienced in support solution contract development and negotiation
Related degree or equivalent
Ability to work in a team
Excellent verbal and written communications
Flexible and positive attitude
Good working knowledge of import/export legislation
Experience of Subcontract Management including programme management skills (Risk Management/Programme Gating/ Metrics)
Experience of programme financial management
Extensive experience of logistics issues
Experience of negotiating and changing multiple types of non-standard agreement
Strong record of problem solving
Experience of Customer Relationship Management

Desirable:
Experience of collaborative working in BS11000 environment
Experience of dispute resolution
Experience of working with international suppliers or customers
Knowledge of Teaming Agreements
Multi-functional team leader experience
Strong network of industry/ internal contacts
Experience as Control Account Manager
