Job Description
I am looking for an experienced Risk Analyst from an Investment Banking or Consulting background who has good knowledge of Algo/Electronic Trading and associated risks.
The role is with a London based Investment Bank and will join a project-focused team of 5 Risk & Controls Analysts.
Main duties will include:
To succeed in this role, you will need experience of, or strong interest in, financial services businesses, including investment banking. Along with a foundation of technical and analytical skills, you will hold a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or have an appropriate analytical qualification.
You will need to bring knowledge of algorithmic trading and products, paired with a risk-based mind set, to understand the risks associated with algorithmic trading.
In addition, you will need experience in change and delivering change in a constantly evolving environment. And experience of working with senior traders and technologists would be advantageous.
Additional key skills or knowledge:

- Analysing risk relating to electronic trading, supporting risk management projects delivery, and assisting key stakeholders to enhance risk management across electronic trading.
- Monitor warnings, alerts and alarms associated with execution controls.
- Assist in the investigation and response to electronic trading issues, internal reviews and regulatory inquiries and exams.
- You will gain exposure as you participate in systems development projects and coordinate with functions across the bank.
- Monitoring existing control frameworks and identifying areas for improvement
- Supporting with the logging of key non-market risks inherent in the electronic trading businesses
- Assisting with Internal Audits reviews of the relevant control landscape
- Assisting with electronic trading regulatory enquiries

- Familiarity with equities and fixed income markets regulation, electronic trading concepts and risks
- The ability to apply a technical understanding to data to solve complex problems.
- The ability to adapt to changing market situations, technology, and business needs.
- Reliability when working independently, with sound judgment for when to escalate issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
