Media Project Manager

Location - Portsmouth


Raytheon UK is looking for a Media Project Manager, responsible for the planning, scheduling and coordination of all media associated with learning development including static graphics development (illustration, 2D, 3D, photo editing), animation development, photography, video production and editing, audio production and editing, and desktop publishing/print layout and design. Requires evaluation of costs, budgets, schedules and deliverables, coordination of talent, customer relationship / interface, and participation in project discussions and presentations for training activities in the Portsmouth office.

Main Duties:
  • Consulting with internal and external customers on media requirements and provide feedback and suggestions related to best practices and creative solutions.
  • Managing a diverse media team with Desktop Publishers, video personnel, Graphic Artists, 3D specialists and Programmers.
  • Oversee and coordinate the operational aspects of media solutions to include design and development projects and serves as a liaison between project management, planning, project team(s), and line management.
  • Identifying and reporting project issues that affect productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Monitoring project progress, interventions and problem solving with team
  • Provide cost and schedule estimates across various media formats based on evaluation of creative solutions, project scope, metrics and resources.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet customer requirements and specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with Raytheon policies and procedures
  • Conducting clear, concise and accurate communication with all levels of the development team to include project leads, instructional designers, media developers, external talent, and customers.
  • Exercising independent judgement and decision-making skills to mitigate known and unexpected issues.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:
Demonstrated media production management experience in a non-IT environment with advanced levels of proficiency in the following:
  • Strong background designing media solutions and leading production/development activities across a variety of media modalities including graphics, animation, 3D, print, electronic/desktop publishing, photography, audio, and video.
  • Working knowledge of key media development toolsets including the Adobe Creative Suite (Animate, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premiere)
  • Working knowledge of video and audio production, photography, HTML5, web design and graphic design principles.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Project
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal business communication skills
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Analysing reports to provide actionable business intelligence
  • Prioritizing and managing work assignments in order to meet project deadlines with attention to detail
  • Strong independent judgement and decision making skills
  • Identifying potential issues and presenting solutions to mitigate risk
  • Experience in the training/learning industry
  • Be a critical thinker, a self-starter, and have the ability to work within a geographically dispersed matrixed organization.
Desirable:
  • Working knowledge and understanding of DSAT (Defence Systems Approach to Training)
  • Experience with the instructional design process
  • Working knowledge of e-learning development tools including Articulate Storyline, and Adobe Captivate
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Media Technology or related field
  • PRINCE2 or APM Certification (Current) - or demonstrative industry experience
