Collins Aerospace has an opportunity for an Aerospace Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Solutions Engineering team for a one year contract.

The Aerospace Systems Engineer will serve as the point of contact in to the design team for the bids and programs falling under the area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities will involve liaising with various stakeholders, both internally and externally, deriving technical project plans and ensuring the team deliver to cost & schedule constraints whilst meeting specification/quality.

It is expected the candidate will have a background in Avionics (Communication, Navigation, Flight Management Systems, Displays, etc.) with experience in the domain covering the whole systems engineering lifecycle including platform
integration and certification.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical leadership and project management of the design & development activities, within the guidelines set by the Program Manager and Customer; provide support to bids and proposals, managing the delivery of engineering artefacts and ensuring engineering process is adhered to; manage a team of engineers, ensuring
engineering deliverables associated with programme/bid delivery are on time and are of the required quality; have excellent communication skills and work
effectively with internal and external customers, across multiple time zones; and provide engineering support to programme management and subcontracts teams to enable effective subcontract management.

Skills and Experience Required:

Engineering degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Avionics, Electronics, Computing or Telecommunications. In the absence of a degree relevant and demonstrable experience.
Ability to estimate and prioritise system development activities and experience of delivering quality systems to tight timescales
Experience of requirements analysis, design, development and acceptance
Experience in tracking, reporting, analysing and acting upon earned value
metrics as required to understand and control program performance
Experience in identifying and managing project risks
Experience in leading teams though successful delivery of bids and proposals and project execution.
Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to work across organisations/business units
UK Security Cleared or ability to achieve clearance
Flexibility to work with individuals across multiple time zones
Experienced in developing products in a Product Line and programmes environment
Experience leading the development of systems in the Avionics, communication or ISTAR domain or related areas
Experience in the use of industry standard project management tools (e.g. SAP & MS Project)

The Aerospace Systems Engineer is accountable to the Program Manager (PM) for engineering cost, schedule, and performance, and takes full ownership for the quality of the delivered technical solution.

The Aerospace Systems Engineer is responsible to the Engineering Manager for professional conduct.

in accordance with our ' Baseline Security ' requirements,

will request from candidates evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and employment and/or education history for up to three years, in relation to certain roles within the business.

These relate to positions where access to export controlled items, (e.g., Technical data, hardware, software, and services subject to international trade control laws and regulations) and Collins IT Systems may apply.
