Job description
***This role can be based in any of KPMG's main regional offices***
Using a wide variety of technical and sector-specific skills, KPMG's Risk Consulting group proactively helps clients increase profits whilst reducing reputational, operational, financial and other risks. Our services broadly include
Strategy and Governance
Cyber Defence Service
Security Transformation
Assessment and Assurance
Public Sector clients need to deal effectively with technology related risks and derive maximum value from data and documentation. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technology capabilities to help our clients proactively manage their technology risks and use their data to its full potential. This can be pure protection, or in support of the organisation's strategy to delivery policy and public service outcomes.
The Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) team within Cyber Security has a huge range of clients across the public services spectrum across the following segments: Central Government; Transport; Justice and Security; Health and Human Services; Education and Skills.
The Role:
Requires experience that spans Information and Cyber Security Strategy; Cloud Transformation; Digital Resilience, and a strong and broad knowledge of security controls optimisation across the security and digital stack. Above all the successful candidate will have experience of delivering security as enabler for improving public service outcomes and building senior, trusted relationships to facilitate that delivery.
Responsibilities:
The role will be working in the Cyber Security team, which sits within our fast-growing Consulting practice. As a Cyber Security Director, you will have the opportunity to drive all of the cyber, technology, and risk services and to deliver key projects to clients.
The Director role covers four main areas;
Relationship building - both internally within the firm to get in front of IGH clients with our best solutions
Winning in the market - both cyber and increasingly alongside other disciplines as part of a wider solution for clients
Delivering a portfolio of work - working with multiple clients at any one time, providing technical advice and more often guiding and coaching teams to deliver excellent results for clients. Working to KPMG risk management processes and taking accountability for meeting profitability targets.
Building and developing a team - the team will grow over the next 3-5 years and will require time and careful planning to create an inclusive and diverse culture where people want to work and feel supported. This role is central to delivering the vision and will involve growing and developing the team.
The Person:
Reporting to the Cyber Security Partner in our IGH team, the Cyber Security Director role involves:
Experience of the Public Sector, preferably experience of multiple segments
Experience of working at a senior level as a Cyber Security Lead and Consultant engaging with public sector boards and executive teams
An existing community and set of relationships that can be harnessed technically and/or to open opportunities at clients
A broad information security skill-set, able to work across many of the domains covered in standards such as ISO27001 and NIST
An understanding of the flow from discovering the problem, to remediating it, to running an effective security management system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience
Strong negotiation, commercial management and project management skill
