My client is a leading European Investment Bank looking to hire a Credit Risk Portfolio Manager for their office in Madrid. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected brand and be part of a highly professional and established entity.
The Role:
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing credit risk appetite framework as well as monitoring portfolio risk limits.
  • As the Credit Risk Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for making recommendations and suggestions of risk management actions to address emerging risks, portfolio concentrations or potential limit breaches.
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will lead credit risk committee submissions and be responsible for preparing credit risk reports.
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing credit risk - capital adequacy assessments (ICAAP); this will include stress testing.
Experience Required:
  • This is a permanent role based in Madrid; the successful candidate must be prepared to be permanently based in Madrid.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Spanish is desirable but not essential.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager must have proven experience in portfolio management activities; this includes, credit risk appetite, portfolio risk limits, ICAAP, (Credit Risk stress testing) and experience covering counterparty credit risk products.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, in a credit risk management function in a large investment bank or other financial services firm.
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will need to be hard working with strong analytical skills. They must have the ability to work autonomously, lead activities and take ownership of core responsibilities.
  • The Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will need to be a team player; have the ability to build relationships locally and with colleagues across different geographies.
